A man dressed a Gandalf from Lord Of The Ring had met the real Gandalf actor while do his pub crawl in his Gandalf costume. It was a normal day for Ben Coyles, dressed in a costume as Gandalf and doing the usual pub crawl. However what really made his day was when Gandalf actor Ian McKellen is there and they had a brief chat and even done a photoshoot. His friend also captured this moment on video and posted on Tik Tok.

While Ben's costume is the wizard costume, it would be even better should he be dressed in the movie version.

Long wait for fast food?

When is it ok to wait 1.5 hour for a meal? It is never ok to wait that long. Maybe a 30 mins to 45 mins if the meal or restaurant is at it's peak and full at that time. AsiaOne carries an article that a student and a friend had to wait for that long and they have to leave for class. They managed to get the food after the mum sent the daughter back for the food. Afterall it have been paid. This restaurant is McDonald's located somewhere in the north. McDonald's is good as being fast food. You may need to wait a bit but usually the food is there after about 15-20 min wait at most, it could also depend on the staff and the number of orders at the time. So if it is a 1.5 hour wait is a bit too much. Because they are youngsters that they not not given a service or that there are other reasons?

Streaming wars: Disney+ vs Netflix

Looks like Disney+ will be the better competitor to Netflix in streaming business. Disney+ produced their own shows, with brands like Star Wars and Marvel, also to include shows when they took over Fox network. But Netflix does produce their own shows too,  So it comes down to quality. Whose shows would the audiences wants to watch? While most reviews of Star Wars and Marvel shows are not that positive, they have enough to be a selection. Netflix will continue to purchase shows from other studios, which is what they have been doing since day one. It remains to be seen on who will remain the winner here.

When TikTok's CEO was at the hearing in US over the China fingerprint over it, many who watched the session were baffled by the Congress members who posed questions that seems so out of logic. Many kind of cheered for Mr Chew, the CEO. The TikTok app is popular and it seems that it got caught in the politics between China and US. While TikTok is still fighting to survive in the US market, it certainly seems to be supported by many, who disagreed with the questions being blasted by the lawmakers. Whatever happened to sensible and logical questions? The world is watching.

My movies babbles

Is the movie industry of the west making movies for the audiences or for the money? However it could be neither. Movie making was usually for the audiences, something the audiences wanted but it may not be blockbuster. Or it maybe blockbuster but it will be just another dumb movie with explosions or car chases. Today, it seems, for the superhero genre movies are dying. Marvel, ever since Avengers End Game, their later movies aren't that performing. While most can still bring in some money, they are usually forgettable. DC superhero is worse. Their management is ever changing and undecided for the direction of their DC world and a rush job to bring in all the heroes makes the story telling bad. Now there seems to be a new trend. To race swap or gender swap for movies remakes or new movies. It makes no sense to make such changes, if you are going to retell a successful story, making such changes make be a bad decision. Imagine James Bond became Jane Bond. But then, at least it is the story of Jane, but using the 007 brand to market Jane Bond will probably have viewers who likes the male character feels short changed and watch other movies.

Flash movie trailer

While Marvel superheroes movies are coming out fast and furious, anyone having too much Marvel can now get to watch DC superhero movie. At least we have the Flash coming out soon. Based on the comic story event of Flashpoint, the flash went back in time and changed the timeline. To repair the changes, he will need all the help he can get. The movie is much different from the comic. Usually movie stories are much scaled down. Most subplots and non existence and different characters. And this time, 1989 movie Batman made a reappearance. Guess that is the selling point, right?

Big changes at SPH Radio. Some of these DJs got shifted to a different station. These type of changes are also common at Mediacorp stations. These DJs get shifted to other stations and it would be like a change of style or the music type. It will attract new fans while forgotten by the old fans. Right now I am going along the DJs that switched since they are still hosting on the same time belt that I tuned in. So it would be how long I will stay switched before I switch back over? More for the music then the host?
